Ros McDonald
Title
Chaplain/RAVE (Religious & Values Education)
Biography Ros welcomes the opportunity to develop the role of Chaplain at Acacia College in our Foundation Year. With her interest in creative worship and her love of working with small groups of people of any age, she is looking forward to developing relationships with staff and students.

To her chaplaincy role, Ros brings her experience as a congregational minister, with 8 years as Minister of Word at Warrandyte Uniting Church before coming to Mernda Uniting Church at the end of 2007.

Prior to becoming ordained, Ros worked as a Hospital Chaplain for many years, gaining her qualification in Clinical Pastoral Education at an advanced level. Her welfare support skills will be put to good use within Acacia College.

Ros’ first degree was in science, majoring in microbiology and nutrition, and in 2006, when she completed a course in “Faith and the Environment”, she had the satisfaction of being able to bring her scientific understanding and her interest in theology together.

During her two years as Minister at Mernda Uniting Church, Ros has forged many links with the Mernda community, and has worked closely with the Acacia College team.

She is both excited and challenged by the opportunity to use her skills in a school setting.
