| Biography |
Martin is a master of many trades who grew up loving the smell of freshly-sawn timber. His father was a carpenter and as a young boy he spent much time on worksites both commercial and domestic, developing his building skills. Martin completed an apprenticeship with Carlton and United Breweries (Fosters Australia) as an Industrial Control Technician with special expertise in pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical control, as well as dealing with the Health and Excise Departments of government. Working with CUB provided him with the challenge of working with leading edge technology in industrial automation.
After 34 Years' service at CUB, Martin saw the opportunity to apply his various skills at Acacia College and brings a strong “can do” approach to all jobs. This is reflected in his experience with design, timber construction, steel fabrication, plumbing, wiring, plastering and painting. His children are lucky to have him build all manner of things for them such as battery-operated go-carts.
Martin also has experience with landscaping and water harvesting and is acutely aware of the need for sustainable development.
Martin comes to Acacia College having done much volunteer work at his children’s school, offering valuable skills and goodwill. He now looks forward to transferring those skills to the great variety of challenges of property management at our new College and ensuring that all aspects of the Acacia College site are safe and well managed.
